USS Arizona Memorial

The most visited location in Hawaii is Pearl Harbor, the site of the devastating attacks of December 7, 1941. Upon arriving at the harbor, guests are able to view many museums and memorials dedicated to preserving the memory of those lost and the ultimate victory for the United States in World War II.

The USS Arizona Memorial was dedicated on May 30, 1962.

Design & Architecture: Designed by Honolulu architect Alfred Preis, the United States Navy requested that the memorial be a bridge, and that holds 200 people.
High on both ends, with a sag in the middle, it represents the height of pride prior to World War II, the depression that set in after the attack, and America's rise to power following the war.
