The Wisconsin-based Old Glory Honor Flight organization plans to take 40 Pearl Harbor veterans to Oahu, Hawaii in June 2012 to pay tribute to these brave soldiers and sailors.
Since 2009, Old Glory Honor Flight has taken World War II veterans on day trips to landmark locations like the National World War II Memorial in Washington, DC.
On June 14th- 18th, 2012, OGHF hopes that their next unique mission will take them to Hawaii.
Approximately 40 Pearl Harbor survivors currently live throughout the state of Wisconsin.
The OGHF is actively seeking funds for the initiative, which will also cover costs for the veterans’ caregivers and support staff.
The organization defines a Pearl Harbor survivor as stationed on the island of Oahu or within 3 nautical miles at the time of the attack: 7:55 am-9:25 am on December 7th, 1941.
