Tour Description
A Day at Pearl Harbor is a tour for the entire family to enjoy and appreciate. Filled with historical lessons and sights, this one day inter-island tour from the Big Island town of Kona is the most complete Pearl Harbor package offered.
Following a flight to Honolulu, our expert local guide will greet you and take you to perhaps the most famous landmark on Oahu. As you arrive at the Visitor’s Center, you will view many exhibits and authentic war weapons, along with great visuals that depict the exact locations and illustrations of Pearl Harbor on the morning of December 7, 1941.
A Navy ferry boat will take you to the USS Arizona Memorial where you will stand above the once great battleship and peer down into the hull of the battleship that is forever resting at the bottom of the harbor. As you pay respects to the 1,177 soldiers that are resting with their ship, you will learn of the triumphs and tragedies of World War II and witness the “black tears of the Arizona” that continue to leak from the ship.
Your tour also takes you to Ford Island where you will tour the deck of the USS Missouri Battleship and view locations of historical significance, including the deck where the Japanese Instrument of Surrender was signed. While aboard the battleship, you will explore the living quarters of the ships officers and have perfect views overlooking the USS Arizona Memorial and other spectacular views from the deck of the ship.
Before you return to the airport for your flight back to the Big Island, you will take a driving tour through historic downtown Honolulu and its many historical buildings and sights, including:
- Iolani Palace
